Ten of our chefs spent an amazing couple of days in Sheffield on a molecular cooking course at MSK. An amazing range of products, with some truly exceptional techniques.

We spent the day making hot jellies, ice creams that can be flambéed with out melting, instant mousses, five minute panacotta, spherification, little pearls, instant jelly, stabilising foams and of course a session with liquid nitrogen making instant ice creams. High lights of the day where making a drink that was both hot and cold and an anti griddle were we could make instant frozen beetroot and cherry lollipops with popping candy. Watch this space we’ll be developing new menus!

It has been a very exciting time here at Caper and Berry. The wonderful Buchanan building team have been with us for the last 2 months creating a new culinary workshop!  The results are amazing they now have 2500 square feet to play in with all the best equipment including:-

20 grid blast chillers
Dehydrators
4 x Sous vide machines
Ceramic grill
100 foot walk in fridge

Words cannot really express how thrilled we were with the catering arrangements for our daughter Sam’s Wedding and our Drinks Party on the following day and how grateful we are to you both and your Team at Caper & Berry. The food was absolutely fantastic, the canapés on both days, the wedding breakfast – and the dry ice effect was awesome and stunning!  You both have been exceptional in your attention to detail, also your help and guidance leading up to the whole weekend including introducing us to and the advice given to us by James at Imbibros where again Libby you so kindly accompanied us.

Finally, we would like to express how quietly efficient, attentive and supportive you both were in controlling the events on both days and also your very professional young staff. Even more so in the appalling weather conditions!  Thank you all so much.

Guests could not believe that they were in a field in the middle of nowhere, and commented that it was like being in a 5 star hotel!

The whole wedding experience will remain with us for a very long time.

Caper and Berry were delighted to involved in the fantastic Balthazars Feast at Petworth House on the 4^th December.  Over 250 guests enjoyed the spectacular Balthazar’s Palace installation before sampling some of the Caper and Berry Persian Feast.

Canapés were served as guests wandered through the exquisitely decorated rooms and included some delicious bites such as Teriyaki beef lollipops with ginger and chilli syrup, Crisp Asian duck spoons with micro coriander and Roasted butternut and pecorino risotto balls with basil dip.

As guests entered the stunning North Gallery guests enjoyed warming bowls of  Lamb tagine with herby cous cous, Moroccan chicken skewers with flat bread, cucumber yoghurt and Sweet potato, cauliflower and chick pea curry topped with crushed peanuts.  A spectacular dessert table completed the Persian Feast and guests were able to treat themselves to a selection of decadent desserts of Tonka bean and white chocolate Brulee with honeycomb and churros, Multi-layered jellies and cream and Dark chocolate and salt caramel mousse with popping candy

We are really excited about being listed at the fantastic Petworth House who are opening their doors for the first time for events in 2013.  The North Gallery offers the opportunity for 120 guests to dine amongst some stunning paintings and sculptures.  The grand and opulent dinning room can accommodate up to 60 guests for a formal dinner but is equally suited to intimate supper parties. The marble hall is the perfect setting for pre dinner drinks or daytime lunches and meetings.  Clients will be able to dine amongst one of the most important art collections in the care of the National Trust whilst relaxing in the knowledge that a creative team who work to the highest standards are catering for their event.

New Vineyard

Last week we went to see a new up and coming vineyard in the south. This truly beautiful estate boasts not 1, not 2, not 3 BUT 4 incredible marquee plots! No matter what you are looking for the estate will be able to offer you something really special with river view plots, gorgeouse views across the vineyards and also a maze with a marquee in the middle!

We have been voted one of the best Wedding caterers in the UK and 2nd in London.

We are absolutely ecstatic to have been awarded this title and now cant wait to receive our trophy!!
